Students of Drona Academy have started a whatsapp group “கரம் கொடுப்போம் aka Karam Kodupom” meaning “let us give a hand” in Tamil . Every month, they credit some money towards Karam Kodupom and they use that money to help someone in need.

2024 #


February - June #

Group4 TNPSC exams are scheduled for June 9, 2024. In the last Group exam a student missed clearing it by few marks. He has since started going to daily waged jobs to make ends meet. To make things easier for him Karam Kodupom pays Rs 4000 so that he could focus on his exams. Karam Kodupom is also hoping to continue doing so until June for 4 months.


January #

The Tirunelveli floods affected the livelihood for many. A woman who was the bread winner of the family by making murruku had her motar she used to make murruku in a damaged condition due to the flood and cyclone. Karam Kodupom extends Rs 12,000 to the woman to get her machine fixed and her business started.

Contributions made towards old age home in Sivkasi.

November #

In the event of Deepavali, students, alumnis, friends and family put their hand together to collect a total of around 38,000 rupees. The funds where then used to buy provisions for Jeevakal homes, Avvai home in Siva Sailam and another orphanage in Chennai. Chains, bangles, blouse for silk skirts and other aminites were also purchased from Saravana Stores and distributed.

Mrs Archana and Karthik from Arasan Group and Lima fireworks gifted crackers for all the children of Jeevakal, Gandhimathi Ashram and Avai homes.

Drona Adademy extends gratitude to all who made this happen. A hand written note on the funds distribution and diwali wishes from Drona to everyone!

Rs 5000 contributed towards the fees of a student for their BA Economics course who was in a tough spot to pay their Rs 9500 sememester fees.

Rs 7000 has given to Vinmeen mentally retarded Girls Training Institute on the celebration of Rakshabandan. They participated in games, do computer data entry , making dolls and mats

Funds handed over to Saranya devi. She asked us to pay tuition for her child to pay school fees after sudden demise of the child’s father

Rs 6600 to Ms Elizabeth who got injury in her leg and couldn’t walk. She is now under treatment now. She worked as a sweeper in a school. She takes care of elderly people those who needs care. She can’t do hard work. Next month She will be ready to do work
