Drona Academy helps people from rural background to excel in life through academics and other social activities. For school students, tutions in Physics, Chemistry and Maths are offered. For graduates and college students coaching for Bank Exams, Group Exams, UPSC Exams are offered. Periodic tests, feedbacks and course materials are provided. Numerous other volunteering activities like blood donation, scribe for blind students are also actively done at Drona

Drona academy was founded by Pon Valli mam. Having majored in maths and computer science, she worked in YRTV, a private school for many years in Sivakasi. Eventually, she decided to start her own private after school for students in the nearby villages. She quit her job and founded drona academy. Every day college students attend drona academy and get trained for government exams, bank exams etc... The academy is named “Drona” after the revered Droṇācārya or Dronacharya who was the royal guru to the Kauravas and Pandavas in the epic Mahabharatha.
Students of Drona Academy have started a whatsapp group “கரம் கொடுப்போம் aka Karam Kodupom” meaning “let us give a hand” in Tamil . Every month, they credit some money towards Karam Kodupom and they use that money to help someone in need.
